Charlotte Eastoe was born June 1836. Charlotte, named after her mother, was the daughter of William and Charlotte Eastoe. In 1854 Charlotte married Thomas Abraham in London, Middlesex, England. Census records reveal they had seven children, including four girls and three boys. Their third daughter they named Charlotte. 

Charlotte stitched her sampler when she was 12 years old. It features very tiny silk stitches on a tightly woven delicate groundcloth. It measures almost 6.25” by 6.25”.  

Charlotte’s choice of colors are predominately blues, greens, pale lavender and beige with the “S” and the “Y” stitched in a dark red. The second alphabet in the middle of the sampler is done using a four-sided stitch. All other stitching was completed using one strand of silk over two threads. On either side of Charlotte’s name are what appears to be trees. The dainty stitches four-sided stitches, coupled with lacy dividers, wandering vines and a soft color palette make Charlotte Eastoe a nice addition to any sampler collection.

Finished sampler measures 108W X 125H stitches. 

Model stitched using Soie 100/3, one strand over two, on 36 count Mayflower linen from Fox and Rabbit.

The design includes traditional cross stitch and also the four-sided stitch for the second alphabet; however, regular cross stitch may be substituted for the four-sided stitch. 

The design is suitable for needleworkers of all abilities and my be stitched on linen or Aida.

  • Patterns generally arrive within a month of their release (Market and Expo times can cause variation). New releases can be about a month while existing releases may only take a few days as they are simply being restocked.
  • Fabric will be dyed to order and time varies between the Dyers. Generally between 4-12 weeks.
  • Threads generally arrive within a few days to a month.
  • Should you want to cancel any items within your order, you will only be refunded in store credit less a restocking fee. 
  • If I cannot fulfill your order due to supply issues or discontinuance, I will refund your original payment method and contact you for alternatives. 

Preorder & Special order items are NOT IN STOCK and will ship within 2 business days of arrival. If you order these items and other in stock items, your entire order will ship when your FULL ORDER is in stock. Please contact me if you need items from your order sooner, we can work on it together. 

Cancellations

Refunds for cancelling any item with Preorder in the title, will be issued as a Store Credit less a 30% restocking fee. All cancellations are refunded in Store Credit only.

Postage & Handling is not refundable as it is a service that is not refundable once a shipment is mailed and accepted by the carrier
