Preparation Guidelines

To ensure the best quilting results, please follow these preparation steps:

  • Backing Size: One side of the backing should not exceed 116 inches in width; the other dimension can be longer.
  • Backing and Batting: Both should extend 4-6 inches beyond the quilt top on all sides.
  • Material Restrictions: Please avoid using bed sheets as backing.
  • Thread and Seam Quality: Make sure all threads are clipped, and seams are secure on both the quilt top and backing.
  • Assembly Instructions: Do not pin the quilt top, batting, and backing together. If the backing comes in multiple sections, sew them together before submission. For optimal results, seams should be horizontal to the quilt’s top edge.
  • Pressing and Folding: Press your quilt and fold it top to bottom. Place it on a hanger with the top and bottom hanging separately. Fold the backing in the same way.

Policies

  • Service Order: Quilts are serviced on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Preparation and Payment: Quilts must be prepped, received, and payment completed before being placed in the service queue.
  • Responsibility Disclaimer: The Stitching Corner is not liable for folds caused by fullness in seams or borders, or for improperly folded or short backings.
  • Right to Refuse Service: We reserve the right to decline any quilts that do not meet our preparation guidelines.
  • Pricing: Cost is based on the area (length x width) of your quilt top. Should your top need additional work, we will contact you to discuss how we can move forward.
